We at Sahara Tecnologia are proud to share this social project that is being carried out thanks to our equipment. Below is the testimony of missionary Rafael Zimmermann, the project’s founder:
“I am missionary Rafael Zimmermann from the Ide África Project (www.ideafrica.com.br). We work in Nampula, in the northern region of Mozambique, Africa, where we carry out social work through the Associação Reviva, focusing on literacy, nutrition for children, and orphans. God placed a dream in my heart to build a social center, and I had a strong desire to build everything using ecological bricks—a construction model I learned about in Brazil and quickly fell in love with because of its beauty, cost-effectiveness, and environmental benefits.
However, it was a big challenge because no one here had this know-how, let alone the necessary equipment. I shared the dream of this construction with a businessman who was visiting us, and he promised to donate a machine. And that’s exactly what happened: at the end of 2012, he bought a used manual machine from SAHARA, manufactured in 1998. He disassembled the machine into parts, packed them into six suitcases, and managed the logistics to bring it here. It was a huge effort, but it arrived. We welded and assembled the machine at the beginning of 2013.
In short, we managed to set up a production line and became pioneers of ecological construction here. We built the first stage of the Reviva School and the front wall. See the photos of the project’s progress up to completion:
But the project is large, and this is just the beginning. We still have two more stages to build the school, six homes for orphans, and a missionary base to receive teams from Brazil who will come to provide volunteer services in health, nutrition, education, and professional training, aiming for sustainable development of children, youth, and families.
We are very
grateful for our SAHARA press, which was generously donated to us by a
businessman from Brusque. However, due to its manufacturing year (1998), we
have begun to notice signs of wear from extended use. For this reason, we dare
to express our sincere desire to receive a donation directly from the SAHARA
factory—a new press and, if possible, a soil crusher to achieve better
finishing of the blocks. This will enable us to continue the project and help
make this dream a reality every day, improving the lives of hundreds of African
children and families.
We look
forward to your response.
