Education and Social Transformation in Angola
Atos Organization, founded in 2011, is a non-profit philanthropic institution dedicated to educational and social transformation projects in Angola. Since its foundation, Atos has been committed to providing formal education and vocational training courses for underprivileged youth, significantly contributing to community development.
Project EDUCATION FOR LIFE
At the heart of Atos Organization’s activities is the EDUCATION FOR LIFE Project. This initiative has already trained over 4,000 young people in schools located in disadvantaged neighborhoods in Luanda. Through collaboration among staff, partners, and volunteers, the project has become a beacon of hope for many seeking a better life through education.

In addition to education, Atos Organization is actively involved in the SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY Project. This initiative aims to implement social units to supply basic needs such as water, food, health, education, socialization, and housing. So far, a water well, a family farming system, a primary school, and a medical post have been installed.
Future Goals
For 2019, the goal is to complete the construction of warehouses that will house a workers’ cooperative. These warehouses will be crucial for local economic development, providing infrastructure for productive activities and income generation, and helping to eliminate the existence of “sheet metal houses” in the region.
Sheet Metal Houses
Sheet metal houses are dwellings constructed from metal sheets or other improvised materials, often lacking adequate comfort, safety, and sanitation. These types of housing are common in the region, where resources are limited and construction alternatives are scarce or costly.
The introduction of ecological bricks is providing a significant alternative for these communities. Ecological bricks are made from soil and cement and offer several advantages compared to sheet metal houses.
Ecological bricks are transforming communities by replacing sheet metal houses with safer, more comfortable, and dignified homes made from ecological bricks. This is achieved through the labor of the residents in partnership with municipal and federal governments and some sponsors who provide land for construction and improvements in the region. This effort not only improves living conditions for the families involved but also promotes sustainability and community development in Angola.
Challenges and Hope
The challenges are great, but Atos Organization believes that through hard work, love, dedication, and cooperation, it is possible to help build a more just and equal society. Atos’s mission is to promote human dignity, reflecting the values of its founder and positively impacting the lives of many in Angola.
